Shooting with my friend and photographer Doug Learned, we recently (October 2011) completed some catalog work for the good folks at ‘illumiNITE‘ sports wear which involved outdoor shots with model Kim LaFontaine who both models and runs a successful Interior Design business. The first part of this shoot was fun, but technically very challenging, as we had to shoot outside in the dark at Old Mountain Park in Wakefield, Rhode Island, to show off the amazing reflective properties of the the IllumiNITE line of sports clothing. We starting shooting as the light was disappearing and and once it was completely dark we used the headlights of strategically placed vehicles to create the desired reflection in the product and to create a background with contrast. Fill-flash was used to complete the image.
The settings for the second shot were:

In a later blog I will review the studio shoot where we had to create both daytime and nighttime shots for the product catalog.
Unfortunately my prior blog dBase was corrupted so I need to start all over
Today, I shot the run4kerri in Matunuck, Rhode Island and it was a grey, damp and very humid morning.. So, humid that my first challenge of the day was when my EF300mm f/2.8 lens misted over due to the temperature and humidity difference between my air-conditioned truck and the outside world. I am always hesitant about touching the glass on my 300mm but today I had little choice and made more cumbersome that my combo was dressed in Aquatech rain gear. Once I put my rain gear on, I, personally, want the skies to open to create a running spectacle in the rain – throw everything that you have got at me – but today it only drizzled
Today’s images are William Sanders who done won the 4-mile race, overall in a nifty 5:03 pace and the winner of the Female division, Laura Brustolon, in a brisk 5:51 pace
